Laureen Sutton
Co-owner and co-director of the Ashland Institute of Massage. A graduate of both AIM (2008) and Gualala School of Massage (1980), Laureen spent many years as a homebirth midwife as well as a wild horse gentler. Certified as a level 2 practitioner in Advanced Myofascial Techniques, she was previously on the faculty of Advanced-Trainings.com. Her private practice focuses on therapeutic myofascial and embodiment work. Laureen is passionate about teaching Myofascial Techniques and Therapeutic Integration at AIM.

Christa M. Rodriguez
Christa is a 2006 Ashland Institute of Massage alumna and is the Massage Foundations Instructor. She strives to teach each student how to successfully create and cultivate their own practice with clear intention, passion & enthusiasm. Her thriving Orthopedic Massage practice focuses on treating injured clients who utilize medical & personal injury insurance. When not in the classroom or her office, Christa can be found hiking with her dog, creating vibrant oil paintings or riding one of her handsome horses.

Trout America
Trout is an AIM alumnus (2011) and wears several hats at AIM. In addition to teaching Structural Anatomy and Kinesiology, he also manages the professional clinic and serves as event coordinator. Trout’s private practice focuses on therapeutic and sports massage. He enjoys working outdoors at Rogue Valley athletic events, hiking, and sailing.

Geoff Houghton
Geoff graduated from Reed College in 1990. He received his Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2000 and has been in private practice in Ashland since 2001. Geoff is best known for his unicycle tricks and supplying students with dark chocolate—for its therapeutic benefits, of course. For more information about Geoff please visit Clear Creek Healing Arts.

D'vorah Swarzman
D'vorah has been practicing Traditional Thai Massage since 1993. She graduated from Heartwood Institute in their AMT program. Her teaching and private practice integrate Thai Massage with meditation; Yogic and Ayurvedic principles; and osteopathic and deep tissue techniques. Her passion is to teach Thai Massage to lay people, making this form of healing accessible to everyone.

Bryn McCamley
Co-owner and co-director of Ashland Institute of Massage as well as an alumna (2004). Bryn believes massage and bodywork are sacred practices that can change individuals and communities for good. With a personal history of offering massage to a wide variety of populations, she brings a deep understanding of how to support students in living a life they love. Bryn would love to see all world leaders involved in weekly massage trades with each other to bring about more human connection and peace.

Jenna Proffitt
Alumna from AIM's program in 2020, Jenna is the Office Manager as well as the Photographer and Social/Creative Content Administrator. Her private practice focuses on making preventative health and self care accessible in any realm. She has a private practice here in Ashland, and also hits the road for travel and adventure sessions in many outdoor arenas across the country. Her sessions are dynamic and adaptable working to create mobility and space in every sense of the word using Myofascial Release, NMT, Cupping, Somatic Trauma Therapy, and more. Jenna makes many appearances to connect with students in both the classroom/office space.

Caitlin Fears
Owner of Meridian Wellness in Medford Oregon, Caitlin is a 2008 graduate of AIM. She is immersed in the deep studies of CranioSacral therapy and Trauma, as well as the ancient science of Astrology. She travels frequently as a Teaching Assistant and Precentor with Upledger Institute. Continuing education for all forms of healing modalities is a regular pursuit. She teaches Prenatal Massage and Ethics here at AIM, and finds inspiring others to be one of her many passions.

Helene Houghton
Owner of Body in Context Medical Massage in Talent, Helene is a health and wellness geek and has extensive training in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology and manual therapy modalities. She really loves understanding how the human body works and ways to help it return to balance. She’s always on the lookout for specialized therapeutic training to better help create a pain free community.

Over the last decade Helene has been an instructor and guest lecturer at top therapeutic massage schools including Maui School of Therapeutic Massage, National Holistic Institute, and Ashland Institute of Massage where she teaches AP Pathology!

Taffy Clarke Pelton
Taffy has a passion for helping people find and answer their call in the world so they can live rich, healthy, balanced, and meaningful lives. She is a licensed psychotherapist in private practice in Ashland and a wellness coach and consultant for a Fortune 10 company. Taffy is a life coach and trainer specializing in mindful living.
